The meaning behind the name

“In Memory Of Christopher Svandrlik.”

Christopher was my big brother. A serious injury during his time on drilling rigs in Alberta resulted in his partial paralysis, leading to his drowning years later out fishing with a friend.

That experience is what shifted my path from field work into safety, making prevention deeply personal. The consequences of a workplace incident ripples to those left behind, and those who weren’t here yet to meet them. Christopher has two amazing nieces who will never hear his voice or feel his hugs. Our work can be serious business, and families and lives outside the jobsite are affected by incidents every day.

This is why, at IMOCS Safety Consulting, I focus on practical prevention: listening, observing, communicating and inspiring people into wanting to take part in safer work.
